Planning Director
The Town of Zebulon, North Carolina is seeking a highly experienced Planning Director. This role will report to the Town manager and will manage the planning department staff.
Salary Range: $91,565 – $140,015
Closing Date: August 21, 2024

They are highly analytical and organized, excelling in both comprehensive and long-range planning. This candidate has a track record of developing and implementing detailed policies and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Graduating from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in urban planning or a closely related field, they bring a solid educational foundation to their role. They have a minimum of six to eight years of progressively responsible planning and supervisory experience, demonstrating their capability in leading teams and managing complex projects.
The candidate is an effective communicator, and this individual excels at articulating complex plans and recommendations to diverse stakeholders. Their strong leadership skills motivate and manage their team to achieve peak performance. They build and maintain strong relationships with other municipalities, agencies, and community members through their diplomatic and personable nature.
This person is outgoing and community-oriented, excelling in public outreach and engagement. Their innovative mindset drives economic development initiatives, fostering community growth. AICP certification is required, or they must be able to obtain it within one year of employment.
